DSD (SA Govt Department of State Development) is looking to support a feasibility study of a new surgical technique – the technique is very much electrical though so I thought it may be of interest here. But better you see the full description of it here
You need to log in first (registration I think can be done immediately if not already registered).
There is a meeting about it coming up soon so best to check it out straight away.
This is a really good example of a State Govt need being translated into a product development opportunity for local industry. Of all the things govt can do to make a difference for local industry this is near the top of the list. Electroncis opportunities do not come up as often as others.
Keep an eye on the sa gov tenders website even if this project is not a match for your company.

From the email I received just now
About the program:
The program encourages collaboration between SMEs and research providers to develop solutions and products to meet a Government agency’s needs and ultimately commercialise the solution more broadly. The program will support up to six months of research and development, with contracts being up to a maximum of $100,000 per company. At the end of this stage it is expected that the contracted company will have developed their concept and will have demonstrated the feasibility of the technology.
